What does this mean?  The City of South Portland has adopted a policy based on guidance from CDC.  Effective September 2, 2021, all visitors and employees entering city facilities are required to wear face coverings regardless of vaccination status.  Meetings are encouraged to be held remotely.

Election Day is November 2, 2021
All polling places will be open from 7:00am until 8:00pm on Election Day. 
Absentee ballots have arrived! You may now request your absentee ballot for the November 2 election.  If you have already requested your ballot, you should expect to receive it in the mail very soon. You can return it - either by mail or drop off at the City Clerk's office using the dropbox outside of City Hall. 

If you prefer to vote absentee in person at City Hall (or pick up a ballot for yourself or an immediate family member), you may do so Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, and until 6:00pm on Thursdays.  The last day to request an absentee ballot without special circumstances is Thursday, October 28.  To request your ballot online, click here.   For more information, visit www.southportland.org/elections
The City is looking for residents to serve on various Boards & Committees. 
 
Residents are encouraged to fill out an application online or in person at the City Clerk's office located at City Hall during normal business hours.   You can read more about the City's boards and committees on the City's website here.

This new ad-hoc committee is seeking two resident members who have concerns about dogs in public spaces.  To read more about this new committee, click here.  All applications received will go to the City Council in early November to appoint members to the committee.  To apply, click here.

Conservation Corner

The South Portland Conservation Commission (SPCC) is looking for new members! This state-mandated commission serves as a research, advisory and advocacy group on environmental and conservation issues relating to the City of South Portland. We meet twice a month and have been instrumental in developing the new Open Space Plan, the restoration of the Gully on Mildred Street, the partial purchase of the Piggery and Ruterbories properties as open space, and are working with the City towards the restoration of Old Joe’s Pond.
