South Portland Historical Society is excited to provide unprecedented access to our community's history! Our staff and volunteers have been working on this project since 2011 and have over 17,000 catalog items and images now scanned into our database ~ and we are scanning in new material nearly every day. We are pleased to be able to start moving these digitized catalog records to our online museum so that residents can search and find materials that are stored in the archives of the historical society. The first upload of materials was made in September 2016; we continue to work on this project and expect to upload new materials at least once a month through 2017 and beyond.

If you don't find what you are looking for, come on back next month to see if it is included in the next upload.

Our thanks to Kaplan University and to the City of South Portland for their financial support which helps to make this website possible!

We need your financial support! We initially uploaded about 5,500 images to the website, but we have a lot of records to edit and code to be uploaded. We would like to be able to focus our resources on this in 2017 so that we can get all 17,000 images online by the end of the year. If you appreciate having access to these records online, please consider making a donation today to help us continue our work. You can call the Society at 207-767-7299 to make a donation by credit card, or make your check out to South Portland Historical Society and mail to us at 55 Bug Light Park, South Portland, ME 04106.
