Electrical
An electrical permit is required for any new wiring, including but not limited to services, lights, switches, outlets, appliances requiring outlets, hard-wired fans, motors, air conditioners, heaters, and smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors.
Only Maine licensed master electricians may draw the permit, which requires:
- A completed Electrical Permit Application.
- Current Maine Master Electrician license.
- Permit fee at time of application in form of cash or check. The minimum fee is currently $40. Please see the second page of the application form for rates.
- Work order number from Central Maine Power for new or replacement services.
