Temporary Structures
A tent permit is required for erecting a tent on commercial and residential property. Proposals for commercial and residential tent permits require:
- A completed Tent Permit Application with full contact information for the property owner, applicant or agent, and contractor. You will need to provide a simple plot plan showing the buildings, grounds and parking area on the lot, drawn to reasonable scale, and indicating the area where the tent will be placed.
- Dates when the tent will go up and come down, and a brief description of the event and its dates.
- A certificate of flame retardancy from the maker of the tent.
- Tent permit fee paid at time of application. The fee for all tent permits is $25.
A Temporary Trailer for Storage, Office or Classroom on commercial property requires applying for a permit that must be renewed annual. The fee is $100 per unit per year. A temporary trailer on residential property may require a permit, also. Please check with our office to see if locating a trailer on your property requires a permit. It may not be permitted in some cases.
